Hello! Welcome to my portfolio! My name is Jacie Ambrose and I am from St. Paul, Nebraska. I grew up fascinated with all things media. From a young age, I wanted to know the behind-the-scenes of the finished products I was consuming. In high school, I began to write, produce videos, and post on social media in journalism classes. After taking home over eight awards at the Nebraska School Activities Association Journalism Championships in my high school career, I decided I wasn't "too bad" at this media stuff.
I am enrolled at Northeast Community College (NECC) In Norfolk, Nebraska in Media Arts and Business Administration associate programs. In the Summer of this year, I plan on transferring to the University of Nebraska at Omaha to continue my education in Business and communications.
I serve as on-air talent at WJAG, KEXL, and KQKX in Norfolk, NE. I also take the NECC campus radio station airwaves on 101-7 The Nest. On the stations, I operate sound boards for sporting events and conduct an on-air shift where I plan content and update listeners. I also stop by to compile news stories and produce news content segments covering recent events in rural Northeast Nebraska.
For the 2024-2025 Academic School Year, I have served as the Nebraska Future Business Leaders of America Collegiate Vice President of Public Relations. In my role, I make graphics, videos, and posts for the organization's social media accounts. In this role, I have learned how to plan content, meet deadlines, and utilize Canva, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Premiere Pro.
Within my Media Arts Program at Northeast Community College, I have had the opportunity to produce videos, write stories, and record segments. I have taken various classes, aiming to become an all-around media producer. I have earned a certificate in media production where I have taken multiple classes such as Media Graphics, Audio Recording Technology, Camera and Lighting I, Camera and Lighting II, Post Production I, Post Production II, Applied Television I, Applied Television II, Writing for Print and Digital Media, Applied Journalism and Radio Production and Performance.
In my free time, I love to watch movies, be with my cat, and attend concerts! I am also left-handed, a triplet, and grew up on rural property where my family has raised horses, chickens, and cows.
