Missed The Mark Podcast
Created during the Spring 2026 semester as part of my Podcast This! course, Missed The Mark is a marketing-focused podcast that breaks down where brands went wrong and why it matters. From concept to launch, I developed every element of the podcast, including the premise, branding, graphics, scripting, editing, publishing, and metadata strategy.
Through a mix of storytelling, analysis, and cultural insight, I examine real-world marketing missteps and the impact they have on audiences, reputation, and brand strategy. As a marketing student and Gen Z professional, I bring a fresh perspective to conversations around branding, accountability, and evolving consumer expectations. This podcast is designed for marketing, communications, and public relations students, as well as young professionals looking to sharpen their understanding of brand strategy and pop culture. It also speaks to socially conscious consumers who want deeper insight into how marketing decisions intersect with culture, representation, and public perception.
In this episode of Missed The Mark, Jacie Ambrose compares two influencer partnerships, e.l.f. Cosmetics’ 2025 campaign with Matt Rife and Dunkin’s 2020 collaboration with Charli D’Amelio, to reveal how understanding your audience goes beyond demographics and why cultural alignment can make or break a brand’s strategy.
In the premiere episode of Missed The Mark, Jacie Ambrose breaks down the American Eagle “Good Jeans” campaign controversy and explores how cultural awareness can make, or break, a brand’s marketing strategy.
